Comments: You do not have any pictures of Charleston Cut Flower. It is oldest florist in Charleston! They used to be on Capitol St before Charleston National Bank was built on the entire city block. They relocated to the west side on Iowa & 5th St. My grandfather founded the company and my grandmother managed it until her death. They deserved to be mentioned in your history of our great WV city.
Admin reply: The only photos I have are what people give me. You or your family obviously haven't given me any.

Comments: Wow! This is an awesome site, love the old pictures.. it's a step back into time . I'm not from W.V myself, but my grandma and mom are. I'm actually trying to help my find her biological father and more information on my grandma as she wasn't very forthcoming. Is anyone here from Seth and remembers a Karen Carpenter?

Comments: This is a beautiful site and you have obviously put a lot of work into it. I am not a West Virginia native and was looking around to help my son with a project about Charleston as part of a Cub Scout project but I'm also a historian by training so I kept looking after he found what he wanted (pictures of the old railroad bridge) because of the number of variety of pictures and stories you have. I also let the rest of his Scout den know about the site because it is such a wealth of material.

Comments: A fellow graduate of Charleston Catholic High sent your site link to me and I have been entranced with nostalgia for days! Thanks for your wonderful work. I grew up on Wyoming St. There are so many places and sights you have posted that I remember. From Tottens Pure Oil to Shoney's! My father introduced me to Mr. Schoenbaum one time when I returned to Charleston for a visit on the C & O from DC. I left WV in 1955 but still there in spirit.
Admin reply: Thanks for dropping by! Will be adding a lot more photos this winter.

Comments: Great website, Jerry. Also, it was good to meet you yesterday at the Carbide Camps Reunion. Your videos of Camp Galahad, where I worked all or part of ten summers from 1967-78, was a treat. Personal request: If you can send me Susie Acevedo's mailing address, I would greatly appreciate it, as I have lost it and would like to follow up on sending her the Boy Scout history book I wrote. She requested it yesterday at the Hunting & Fishing Club reunion. Unfortunately I have misplaced her address. Keep on doing fine work.
