Comments: Looking through the pictures and stories of the old times in Charleston just brings back so many memories. I grew up in Washington Manor in the 50's and did not realize till many years later why white people lived on one side and black people lived on the other side. Hell, I was a kid, I did not know. I always wondered why so many black people hated me so much, what the hell did I do ? Fifty years later a lot of things come into focus. I left Charleston thirty years ago and moved to Virginia, glad I did. Some of the memories are very important to me, some I'm glad to be rid of.

Comments: Love your pics! Thanks so much. I grew up in Charleston and after graduating from WVU, I became news director at WKAZ and WCAW---working with Mike Hammer, Jay Jarrell, Gary Palant, etc. I left radio and got into TV producing and writing, but back on the air now in Arizona. I will never forget my days growing up in Charleston. The best!!

Comments: Your pictures are wonderful. You have left a great memory of how the area was years ago. I would like to see comparison shots. How it was yesterday and how it is today. Especially the Naval Ordnance shot I think it must havebeen taken inDunbar on the hill somewhere.
