Mystery Photo

This
is one of the finest photos I've ever seen. Unfortunately, I cant
figure out where it was taken. There are so many clues in the
photo of the possibilities, but nothing adds up....
1...
We have a single railroad track. If it's a mainline, it could
only be on the north side of the river, as the south side always had
double tracks. But, could it be up Coal or Elk Rivers?
2... We have a river, and there are about 50 nice cars parked along it. Notice that there are no junkers in the lot.
3... It's late Fall or early Spring. No leaves on the trees, so it's not a swimming party.
4...
It DOES look like it could be around Daniel Boone Park, but this
photo was taken in the mid to late 30s, and Daniel Boone Park wasnt in
operation until 1941. More importantly, old Rt 60 ( The Midland
Trail ) was larger and in better shape than the road in this photo.
Not only that, but a bus could never park in the middle of that
road as this one is. Finally, the tracks were never that close to
the river near Daniel Boone Park.
5... There are 5 or 6 boys of around 14 years of age standing near that one line of cars. Why? Where are the adults? And for that matter... where are the possibly 100 people that drove those cars?
6...
There appears to be a board used as a walkway in the bottom right.
Is there another road up that bank? And notice the
transformer on the pole. Why is it there? Was there a house
on that lot at one time?
If you have any suggestions as to where this is, post it HERE
