DOWNTOWN CHARLESTON 1920

This photo shows Charleston during it's boom days.  The street you're looking at here is Quarrier Street., and you'll notice that it ends at Capitol Street.  In the panorama, you can see a grand old home on McFarland Street.  Also, Dickinson Street on the right,  ends at Quarrier Street.  On the right is the old public library, but is still the Capitol Annex at this time. Behind it you can make out the steeples of the old Capitol itself.  To the left of the Annex is the heating plant for the Capitol complex.  Many buildings in this photo still exist.
