Court Street Court St. in the late 50s, just a few years before Urban Renewal. You could get anything you wanted here: Ribs, Booze, Prostitutes. And few thought anything wrong with that. "Fry's Alley" was probably the most famous Street in this area, and I can remember prostitutes hanging off the upstairs porches, or ground floor windows when I was a kid. After all, I only lived 2 blocks from here. Many Whites from all over the area came here to get Ribs, usually cooked in a house where you passed your money through a window. Possibly the first drive-inn take out fast food! SAME SCENE TODAY
